Did you know that with the 2.1-liter turbo diesel engine, the cylinder head bolts must be retightened after the cylinder head is installed in the vehicle? You would know that if you owned this book and flipped to B-101. You'd also be advised to operate the engine for a minimum of 20 minutes. Allow the engine to cool for a minimum of 2 ½ hours. Loosen each cylinder head bolt (in sequence) ½ turn and then tighten in sequence to 95-105 N-m (70-77 ft-lbs) torque. For the final tightening, tighten the bolts again in sequence (without loosening them) to 95-105 N-m (70-77 ft-lbs) torque.
