There's no doubt, Dodge rolled-out a great line up in 1969. There were plenty of stylish models and performance options to be had. Let's take a short look at just one model. Here's a partial look at some of the ways the "coke-bottle" Charger has became famous. Just one year prior, a 1968 Charger played an unforgettable role in the Steve McQueen classic movie Bullitt. The bad guys drove a sinister black Charger and it did serious battle with McQueen, who was driving a Mustang. To this day, the film contains what is still highly regarded by many as the greatest car chase in cinematic history. It wasn't just a clash on the silver screen. The Charger and Mustang models certainly battled in the show rooms, too. Bullitt wasn't the only big-screen showcase for the Charger, either. In 1974, Peter Fonda wildly drove a 1969 Charger in the film Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry, eventually crashing it spectacularly and unexpectedly into a train (a scene that was later included in the credits of the popular TV show The Fall Guy). That isn't nearly the whole story. The 1969 Charger would become undeniably famous (ten years after being built,) when it starred in the role of the "General Lee" on the popular television series The Dukes of Hazzard. It's no wonder Hollywood cast (and continues to cast) the vintage Chargers in high-visibility roles. They're great looking cars with plenty of thump under the hoods to get the job done. When you're ready to turn some wrenches on your classic Mopar, be sure to use the guide containing the correct specifications and instructions. On TV, cars often seem to be indestructible, but in the "real world" you're going to want this service manual! Order yours today.
