This outstanding manual covers all areas of these vintage vehicles. If you're working on your engine, whether you have The Tornado overhead cam (OHC) engine, the Vigilante 327 V-8 or the High Torque 6-232 power plant, this guide is loaded with factory specifications and instructions to take you through projects of all sizes.
You'll quickly discover this shop manual is full of helpful notes. For instance, when working on the Tornado OHC engine, if you're installing the engine front plate, did you know that on late production engines, the front plate is doweled to the cylinder block to assure the correct engine-plate to cylinder-head alignment? You would if you owned this guide and flipped to page 77. You'd also know to check the clearance between the riveted end of the timing chain tensioner's lower pin and the engine block, because interference at this point can prevent the engine plate from being tightened flush against the block-to-plate gasket. More importantly they advise you that additional clearance may be obtained by grinding or drilling the dimple on the block to obtain the additional depth. Do NOT, under any circumstances, grind or file the riveted end of the tensioner pin.
You know how frustrating, unsafe and expensive it can be to learn lessons the hard way. With this expertly written guide, you can avoid that and complete the jobs efficiently, completely and accurately.
This factory-written shop manual is perfect for service, repairs, restoration, and rebuild projects. Clear illustrations and photos show exploded views, as well as component details, plus specifications, engine repair details, fuel systems and more.
