The traction (engine) clutch mounted on the engine flywheel is a lever operated, over-center, wet type. Approximately one quart of oil, bled in by an oil relief hole in the PTO Drive Gear and Sleeve Assembly, is maintained in the clutch housing.

For information pertaining to the clutch used in the constant running pto assembly, refer to paragraphs 451 through 453D.

440. ADJUST DRIVE CHAINS. To adjust the final drive chains on tractors without a power take-off unit, first remove the cover from the rear face of the transmission housing then proceed as outlined in paragraph 440B.

440A. To adjust final drive chains on tractors equipped with the continuous type power take-off, proceed as follows:

Remove seat from seat support and engage the pto clutch. Drain oil from the clutch housing, transmission and hydraulic sump assembly.

Remove the acorn nut from pressure relief valve (Fig. C401). Also remove the relief valve spring and the pto clutch throwout yoke as shown, being careful not to lose the keys.

Remove stub shaft bearing carrier cap screws. Install temporary stud pins as shown in Fig. C402 and slide retainer, stub shaft and clutch plates off of sump housing as shown.
