Tricycle type (720 and 730 diesel tractors are available with a convertible type, two-piece pedestal. The available convertible front systems include a fork mounted single front wheel, duel wheels of the conventional knuckle mounted type or dual wheels of the "Roll-O-Matic" type. Refer to Figure JD2001. The procedure for disassembling and overhauling the fork mounted or the conventional knuckle mounted front wheels is evident.

"ROLL-O-MATIC"

OVERHAUL The "Roll-O-Matic" unit can be overhauled without removing the unit from the tractor. Support front of tractor and remove wheel and hub units. Remove knuckle caps (45- Fig. JD2001C). Unbolt and remove thrust washers (25). Pull knuckle and gear units from housing and remove felt washer (21). Check the removed parts against the values which follow:

- Knuckle Bushing: Inside diameter ..... 1.8735-1.8755 - Knuckle Shaft: Outside diameter ..... 1.870-1.872

IGNITION and ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

(See Wiring Diagram on Page 69) John Deere 40, 320 and 330 series tractors are equipped with a model 1111709 Delco-Remy distributor and gasoline models use Champion H10, AC45L or Auto-Lite A7 spark plugs. Recommended spark plug for all-fuel engine is Champion J14. Electrode gap setting is 0.025.
