The Headline was acurate.
The book was farily accurate but the illustrations were bad, many were so bad you could not tell what you were looking at.

The problem you describe was most likely related to a bad run through the Haynes' printing presses. It is rare, but the publisher has had batches of runs through their presses in the past.
When we receive books from the Haynes publisher, they are shrink wrapped. We don't open the books to inspect the print.
Please call our office and we will send you a new Haynes manual free of charge. We will also raise a complaint to the publisher! We apologize for this inconvenience.
