FUEL SYSTEM
HOLLEY 2300 | SECONDARY CARBURETOR CLOSING ROD
ADJUSTMENT
Start engine and allow to warm-up (choke in fully opened position). Disconnect closing rod ends from each secondary carburetor. Set idle to specifications. Turn off engine.
With clevis pin bottomed in primary carburetor throttle slot, adjust rear secondary carburetor closing rod so that it falls short of entering the rear secondary throttle lever hole by 1/2 a rod diameter. Install rod and secure with special clip.
Next, adjust forward secondary carburetor closing rod so that it just enters the forward secondary throttle level hole. Install rod and secure with special clip.
When the adjustment is completed the clevis pin will be at a point just above the bottom of the primary throttle slot, thus insuring that there is freedom in the linkage and a positive secondary throttle closure.
THROTTLE LINKAGE
ADJUSTMENT
Disconnect throttle rod swivel at throttle lever on carburetor or at dash lever. Hold accelerator pedal to floor against stop. Move carburetor throttle lever to wide open position. Tighten cable clamp bolt to 45 in. lbs. of torque.
On automatic transmission equipped vehicles disconnect TV rod at throttle lever. Hold carburetor throttle in wide open position, push throttle rod rearward (to position accelerator pedal at the floor mat) and adjust swivel to just enter hole in throttle lever. Connect swivel to throttle lever and install accelerator return spring.
On vehicles equipped with automatic transmission hold throttle lever in full open position, pull TV rod to full detent position and adjust TV rod to just enter hole on throttle lever, and connect TV rod at throttle lever.
FRONT SUSPENSION
UPPER CONTROL ARM
REMOVAL
Raise car and support its weight at outer end of lower control arm. Remove wheel and tire assembly. Remove cotter pin and nut from upper control arm ball stud. Remove the stud from the knuckle. Remove two nuts retaining upper control arm shaft to front crossmember. (Note the number of shims at each bolt.)
If necessary, remove the bolts attaching the control arm to the frame to allow proper clearance for control arm removal. Remove upper control from vehicle.
