RADIATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING

REMOVING

1. Remove front bumper, see Body - Exterior section, Repair Group 63.



2. Drain coolant at drain plug (see arrow), see Cooling system, draining and refilling.



3. Disconnect coolant hoses at radiator, unhinge clamp from connection flange (see arrow).



4. Disconnect connector from temperature switch at bottom-left of radiator.


VEHICLES WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION


5. Remove ATF lines from radiator, see 5 Speed Automatic Transmission 01V section, Repair Group 37.


ALL MODELS


6. Unbolt power steering hydraulic oil cooling line (see arrows).


VEHICLES WITH AIR CONDITIONING


7. DO NOT open the air conditioning refrigerant circuit.



8. Disconnect A/C refrigerant lines at brackets and support points only.



9. Avoid damage from bending. Refrigerant lines kink easily.



10. Unbolt air guides at radiator -4- on left and right-sides.



11. Disconnect harness connector -3- at A/C pressure switch -F129-.



12. Pull condenser upward out of retaining bracket, swing to side and hang at right-front wheel using wire loop.

REMOVING AND INSTALLING VACUUM SERVO UNIT WITH BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER (SEE REPAIR GROUP 47)

1. Unbolt hydraulic line -1- for clutch master cylinder.


CAUTION! Before disconnecting the hydraulic line, protect the plenum chamber from brake fluid flowing out.


2. Disconnect supply hose from elbow of master cylinder.



3. Remove nut -1- at universal joint.



4. Loosen eccentric by turning bolt (Torx T50) clockwise, and remove bolt.



5. Secure steering column with safety wire before removing steering column from steering gear pinion.


CAUTION! The splines between the top and bottom part of the steering column must not be separated during repairs, otherwise the airbag spiral spring may be damaged.
