The 2002-2011 Honda ST1300 Pan European repair manual by Haynes covers:
  •  Honda ST1300, 2002-2011
  •  Honda ST1300A, 2002-2011

These motorcycles are powered by liquid-cooled, 1261cc, 90-degree, 4-stroke, DOHC V-four engines. Power from the crankshaft is routed via the clutch and a damper shaft. Transmission is a five-speed constant-mesh unit. Final drive to the rear wheel is by shaft.

A sport touring motorcycle marketed in Europe, the ST1300's V4 engine is mounted as a stressed member in an aluminum frame that is lighter than many comparable engines. The ST1300 Pan European's rear wheel is driven through a cassette-type five-speed transmission and shaft drive. This 336-page Haynes manual provides DIY motorcycle mechanics with enough photos and diagrams to empower them to maintain, repair and even rebuild the Honda ST1300. Get tips on how to buy spare parts, do pre-ride checks, where components are located, maintenance procedures and so much more. Order from The Motor Bookstore and get free shipping to the continental 48 United States.
Book Excerpt: 2002-2011 Honda ST1300 Pan European Repair Manual ENGINE, CLUTCH AND TRANSMISSION
GENERAL INFORMATION The engine/transmission unit is a liquid-cooled 90 degree V-four. The valves are operated by double overhead camshafts driven by chain and sprockets. The engine/transmission assembly is constructed from aluminum alloy. The crankcase is divided horizontally. The crankcase incorporates a wet sump, pressure-fed lubrication system which has a chain-driven, dual-rotor oil pump, an oil filter and by-pass valve assembly, a relief valve, oil pressure switch, and cooler. Power from the crankshaft is routed to the transmission via the clutch and a damper shaft. The clutch is of the wet, multi-plate type and is gear-driven off the front of crankshaft. The transmission is a five-speed constant-mesh unit. Final drive to the rear wheel is by shaft. The alternator is driven by a gear train off the back of the crankshaft.
