About the Author
Tom Monroe built his first engine, a flathead Ford, in 1957 while in high school. After graduating from college in Mechanical Engineering. Tom took a position with Ford Motor Company as a chassis-design engineer. One of his assignments involved the design, building and testing of Le Mans, CanAm and TransAm race cars. Later, Tom launched his own engineering-consulting business where he designed and built Pro Stock drag cars, late-model stock cars, road race cars, and NASCAR modifieds, among others. Tom is a registered Professional Engineer and ASE certified Master Automotive Technician.
