In addition to all of the well-written, step-by-step directions, you'll be pleased to find a huge number and variety of excellent visual aids. Please take a moment to scroll down to the sample page to see just how well the black and white photographs and exploded-view illustrations work together.

Please note that this is a freshly-printed version of the 1982 Fisher Body Service Manual, which retains all of the content of the original source. If you own an '82 Fisher Body B, C, D, E, G or K body style, this is the definitive source for your body projects. Don't worry, there's a handy model identification chart at the front of this book to translate the make and model to the appropriate body style code.

Often, we don't stop to think about the complex engineering that goes behind the great features on our cars. Consider the front seat back inertia lock assembly found on two-door styles. Did you know that two-door style front seats are equipped with an inertia seat back lock system? It allows the seat back to be tilted forward for access to the rear seat WITHOUT having to release any lock levers. Upon a sudden stop, or if the front of the car is declined by approximately 30 degrees (or more), the seat back inertia locking system locks the front seat backs in an upright position. You'd know all of that (and much more) by simply turning to the SEATS section 9-39 of this helpful guide. It offers detailed information about the emergency release lever, inertia lock (pendulum), how to test it and other great information. Think about it. The ability to simply pull your seat forward to access the back is definitely convenient, but to have it also be smart enough to know when to lock during situations such as hard braking requires a brilliant design.

By 1982, Fisher body didn't know it, but it was only a couple years away from major changes. If one of your criteria for judging a company is longevity, Fisher certainly has you covered. They were founded in 1908 and it didn't take long for them to become an integral part of General Motors (GM) as their in-house coachbuilder. You could say that Fisher Body took the dreams of the GM artists and sculptors from paper and clay and gave them life in metal to survive in the real world.

This factory-written shop manual is perfect for service, repairs, restoration and rebuild projects. Clear illustrations and photos show exploded views, as well as component details and more.
