This high-quality, reprinted, factory-written Chevrolet Chassis Service Manual is designed for use with 1966 Chevy passenger cars, including the Chevelle, the Chevy II and the Corvette. It includes a Corvette Body Service Manual section. This healthy-sized, 616 page shop manual is the perfect choice for classic car restorers, or DIY mechanics working on one of these vehicles. It includes clear, text illustrations and a huge number and variety of visual aids. You'll find exploded views, as well as component details, specs on engine data, engine torque, carburetion and more. Make no mistake. This manual goes well beyond the chassis and covers most systems outside of the drivetrain. The organized, detailed descriptions, methodical step-by-step instructions, clear pictures and detailed diagrams make this reprinted guide far more informative than a Chilton type repair manual.
Chevrolet offered plenty of exciting choices for 1966. These cars not only had sporty, good looks, but there were plenty of muscle options to back them up. As the old saying goes..."There's no replacement for displacement!". The 1966 Corvette was certainly a beautiful design, but its monstrous, fire-breathing big-block V8 let you know it meant business, too. This manual has a special section dedicated to the Corvette body, so you can be sure yours is in tip-top shape. Then, go ahead and flip on over to the engine section, and you'll find what you need to take care of that, as well.

When it's time to get to work on your classic '66 Chevy, be sure to turn to this newly-printed version of the same manual which was written for, and used by, the Chevrolet mechanics back when these models were new. It has the specifications and instructions you need to get the projects completed accurately and efficiently. Whether you're spinning some wrenches on one of the inline six cylinders (153, 194, 230 or 250 cubic inches), or the V8s (283, 327, 396 or 427 cubic inches), the details are here.

While the Corvette is my sole interest in the book, every section has the same detail for the other Chevys in the title, so I think it would behoove the owners of Chevelles and Chevy II's to get a copy for the same reason. And it's interesting to learn about all the differences and similarities of the cars covered in the volume with equally good photos and descriptions of each.

My son is a brilliant 15 year old who conceders it a failure if he scores below a 97 on anything in school. His mechanical/hands on ability is not as good. One condition for buying this car was that he would be there right by my side directing ME as to what needed to be done and how as well as wrenching. He was willing but didn't have any experience, even a lawn mower engine. We needed something for him in his comfort zone......a book. This book.
I must confess that I have taken this book and read all the chapters relevant to our car and found it clearly written and informative. He reads it to see what we can do next. This book allows him to study the project and takes the fear of the unknown out of the equation and gives him the confidence he needs to try. OK, me too.
Look at it this way. The cost of the book is less than half an hour of a mechanics billing rate. The quality time that I spend with my son and the look on his face when he has accomplished something that he thought was impossible because of this book............priceless.
