This 1976 Pontiac Shop Manual Supplement is a high-quality, PRINT, reproduction of the shop manual which was written and first published by the experts at the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), Pontiac Motor Division, for use by their dealership mechanics. Now, this awesome resource can be yours!

NOTE: We are proud to include COLOR, 11" x 26" fold-out wiring diagrams. Not many (if ANY) competitors offer fold-out material, much less in color! As beautiful as the '76 Pontiac models were, it's no wonder the factory wanted to include a "centerfold". All kidding aside, these extra visual tools are a huge advantage for your maintenance and repair needs.

NOTE: This is a SUPPLEMENT manual. It was designed to be used WITH the 1975 Pontiac Service Manual, which can be found by clicking here...1975 Pontiac Shop Manual. The supplement only covers the new/revised service information on all '76 components (except the body...please see note below).

In 1976, Americans were bursting with patriotic pride celebrating the nation's bicentennial. Pontiac was celebrating a big milestone too. It was their Golden Anniversary. A year later (after a wildly successful movie -- Smokey and the Bandit) the world caught on to the stylish, black and gold Trans Am paint scheme. Pontiac already had it (and a lot more) to offer in '76 for those paying attention. Though it was a disastrous time in the auto industry due to a large number of factors, Pontiac, like Rocky, refused to go down without a fight. They offered more performance than just about anyone. Be sure to keep yours performing at its best with the details in this superior guide.

Did you know that the idle mixture screws have been preset at the factory and capped? You would if you owned this book and turned to 6E-10. You'd also learn that before assuming the carburetor is the cause of poor engine performance or rough idle, you should check the ignition system (including the distributor), set the ignition timing, check the plugs and wires, the air cleaner, evaporative emission system, positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system and compression pressures. You should also check all of the vacuum hoses and connections for leaks. If you DO need to perform a major carburetor overhaul, this manual will walk you through the procedures one step at a time.

NOTE: This is the SHOP manual supplement. For BODY information, please see our: 1976 Fisher Body Service Manual, which can be found by clicking here...1976 Fisher Body Service Manual.

This factory-written shop manual is perfect for service, repairs, restoration, and rebuild projects. Clear illustrations and photos show exploded views, as well as component details, plus specifications, engine repair details, fuel systems and more.
