Bentley is a publisher of automotive repair manuals and books.

Bentley Publishers was founded in 1950 by Robert Bentley as an importer of fiction and philosophy books, however, in the 1960s the focus of Bentley Publishers became increasingly involved with automotive-related publishing.

Bentley publishes two types of repair manuals: Official Factory Repair Manuals and Service Manuals.

The Official Factory Repair Manuals contain repair information that the dealer-trained service technicians use everyday. The information is developed by the manufacturer primarily for the professionally-trained technician. The Official Factory Repair Manuals usually contain more information than the service manuals and assume a high level of automotive experience and skill. As such, these manuals are intended for professional mechanics or an advanced-level do-it-yourself owner.

Bentley Service Manuals are authored by automotive editors at Bentley's automotive research center. Starting with a clean sheet of paper and the official factory service, repair, and training information, automotive editors set out to create a condensed authoritative service manual aimed at both the do-it-yourself owner and professional technician. Service manuals often include additional troubleshooting tips, routine maintenance hints, and model-specific repair information not found in the Official Factory Repair Manual.

Bentley also publishes Owner's Bibles, Enthusiast Companions, Brand-Specific Reference books, and many other titles. Their repair manuals and related books are considered the best in the industry.
