Onboard Weather Handbook: Understanding and Predicting Conditions at Sea
Be Your Own Onboard Weather Expert
Nowhere is weather of greater concern that when you're on the water. And yet, weather over water is notoriously tricky to predict, and the forescasts you hear on the radio often don't match local conditions.
Let mariner and meteorologist Chris Tibbs show you how to understand the weather. Using simple, everyday language and clear color graphics, he explains the forces that create the weather, demonstrates how to interpret forecasts and meteorological data, and helps you add your own real-time observations to make accurate predictions for your area.
The Onboard Weather Handbook was developed for the Royal Yachting Association—one of the world's foremost authorities on small-boat seamanship—and expanded and revised especially for North American boaters.
