We cannot recommend these manuals to the novice / beginner DIY mechanic. This material was designed for professionals that have a history with mechanics and bodywork. For instance, there are plenty of illustrations in the 1972 AMC factory shop repair manual to help visualize the process, but no information about what tools to use or techniques for how to use the tools as part of the repair procedure.
